The Biomedical Science and Technology Academy is a  tuition-free, competitive, magnet program at Chino High School with an emphasis on two pathways: Biomedical Science and Cybersecurity. This is a four-year high school program that enrolled students will complete. 

In order to be considered for admissions, all interested candidates must submit an application during the application window beginning in October and be accepted into the program. 

Applications are accepted for incoming 9^th and 10^th grade students. Incoming 9^th grade students must have completed Integrated Math 1 prior to enrollment, while incoming 10^th grade students must have completed Integrated Math 2. 

Yes! The BST program is designed to attract students from across the district. Students choosing to attend BST instead of their school of residence will need to submit a CVUSD Transfer Request. 

Intradistrict Permits (outside of CVUSD) must request an exit with your current district prior to applying to CVUSD. The BST is not able to enroll international students. 

Acceptance will be based on a combination of a completed application, grades, test scores, writing prompts, teacher recommendations, and the entrance exam. 

BST students have a set course list for their four years. Almost all courses are Advanced Placement or Honors. Ninth grade students will begin with three (3) Advanced Placement (AP) classes and have up to five (5) in their junior and/or senior year depending on the pathway. The BST Pathways are specifically designed and cannot be modified or substituted. Because BST teachers only teach BST students, courses with Chino High School teachers are limited. Exceptions to this format include band, theatre, and ASB/Leadership. 

All BST freshmen will take the same courses in the fall and will need to determine their pathway by spring. Thereafter, students will be enrolled in the pathway courses by their sophomore year. 

Yes! Many BST students are involved in numerous clubs, sports, and band that are part of Chino High School. 

There are approximately 265 enrolled students. 

The BST community is a tight-knit group of students and staff who wish to see one another excel and enjoy their experience at the Biomedical Science and Technology Academy! BST Ambassadors are not only phenomenal school leaders, but they serve as mentors to freshmen students. BST teachers teach only BST students and buid great rapport with students throughout their four years. Our teachers advise numerous clubs and offer tutroing hours to support students beyond class hours. 

Overall, BST students value the rigor in their academics, welcome challenges, always seek to be better, and are involved in multiple sports, clubs, band, and other extracurricular activity. Students are definitely like-minded. 

BST administrators are approachable, welcomes feedback, is supportive of both staff and students, and want everyone at the BST to thrive! BST also boasts a parent group that loves to volunteer and promote fun events for BST students. 

Students have the opportunity to create and take leadership roles with numerous clubs and events. BST students complete volunteer and/or community service hours and earn a certificate at the end of the school year. BST Academy also has a partnership to provide students with medical internships and is continuing to make connections for technology-related internships. There are annual field trips and guest speakers with a focus on biomedical and cybersecurity topics and college visits.
